The main aim of the electronics subsystem is to make the bridge between the software stack of the AUV and the outside world. Intel NUC is our main processing unit and along with peripheral microcontrollers, it forms the control unit, responsible for various tasks the AUV can perform. The electronics stack comprise of 2 custom made PCBs designed in Autodesk Eagle™. Their standout features are compact size, stacked design and power efficiency. We have also incorporated protection features like overvoltage, under-voltage and short-circuit protection. Both circuits are thoroughly tested for stress and functionality and revised before deploying them inside the AUV.
