Acoustic Team

We hear everything.

We hear all frequency

The acoustic subdivision handles the processing of underwater acoustic signals, we specialise in building systems mostly responsible for localisation and tracking underwater targets emitting acoustic signals. This involves designing of sensitive hardware to pick up the faintest signals and time-critical software to process the signals in real-time with minimum computing resource available. The software part is mainly written in C, C++ and Python. We design hardware which comprises of low noise analogue circuits as well as high-speed data acquisition circuits. We also synthesise high-speed digital circuits on FPGA to accelerate deployment of parallel signal processing algorithms in real-time.
